The 7th Company is the first of the two Melee companies, that work akin to the reserve companies of more Codex-compliant chapters. After the organisational reforms made by Alfabusa, the 7th had taken up Assault Marines within it's ranks, sending them to battlefronts where they may be required. Instead of charging into battle like those of the 12th would want to do, the Assault Marines of the 7th take less indirect methods to their general way of combat, using certain tactics that have long since put distance between them and their brothers among the other companies. Despite this however, they do not shirk from a direct fight, and they become a terrifying force to be reckoned with when gathered on the same battlefield.
Specialization and Doctrine
The 7th Company is one of the only two Assault Marine Companies of the Chapter - making them rather mobile, and with a finesse in melee, which sometimes even outperforms the Assault Marines of the 12th, thanks to personal training by Kage. They also use some tactics similar to the 12th Company, typically going for the enemy flanks or even the rear - using their own Jump Packs or transport to break through the weakest points in the enemy force, before promptly causing general havoc among the enemy infantry. But the similarities end there.
While some companies seek to end campaigns swiftly, Marines of the 7th Company tend to go for the long term conflict. Given the opportunity to do so, they would be typically dropped behind enemy lines, for the sole purpose of sowing confusion, sabotage, and fear. With the aid of the bare minimum of knowledge about Comm-links and channels, they would hack into them, and send vox-recordings of their giggling and cackling, speaking of their specific doom, cursing and damning them even as they laugh at the foe's defiance. These Assault Marines would go as far as to broadcast on the open vox using solely their comm-link, only to slip away before the enemy would track them down. When given opportunity, they would attack isolated or small enemy infantry formations or garrisons, wiping them out and broadcasting from that position before moving on, leaving a grisly message behind them.
As the paranoia and fear starts to set in, as the final battle for the Campaign draws near, they continue their work - spreading their fear, hitting important targets such as supply convoys, power generators, even command centers. When the final battle finally arrives, only then do the Assault Marines come to the forefront. They attack from the enemy blind spots, typically using their Jump Packs to soar into the air like birds of prey. They hover for a mere moment, the scream of the engines resounding across the battlefield and giving the opportunity for the enemy to see their worst nightmares come to life. Only then do they fall upon the enemy, hacking and tearing into them. The full psychological impact would come full circle, and the full terror is revealed for all to see - sometimes entire infantry formations would break and scramble for their lives, their morale shattered. It is moments like these where the 7th Company truely excels at, turning mere temporary fear of witnessing an impending combat with Assault Marines into terror that lasts and breaks even the most hardened of mere human veterans.

Culture
Members of the 7th Company had always typically been a bit morbid, easily expecting death to come for them - regardless, during their entire history up until now, they have never shirked from a fight, using whatever methods it took to best the foe in battle, and to win the war. Recently however, they would come to be given certain... allowances to their wargear. It quickly became widespread practice among the company to have patterns painted with the crimson of the Company or scratched across their armor and weapons - patterns that they would choose as individuals, whether of personal significance or preference, it mattered not. Funnily enough, it added to the effect of causing terror upon the foe - to see such warriors come for them marked like that, as if they are demons onto themselves. Some marines that are more practical have realised this, and taken advantage of it to give themselves a more predatory appearance - even going as far as to request the Tech Marines of the chapter to make slight modifications to their armor to add to such appearance.
