Swedesian Ice Burners
Summary: The Swedesian Ice Burners are the elite men and women of the Imperial Guard raised from the Death World and Space Marine Homeworld of Swedesia. The Ice Burners serve as the elite infantry units for system Guard battlegroups, working in conjunction with Findan Jägers and Norwesian Armor Hunters. They also work in close cooperation with the Space Marines of the Alfa Legion, sharing many traditions and historical ties from their shared homeworld.
Regimental History: The Ice Burners have a rich history of glorious service to the Emperor, fighting in a multitude of campaigns against the enemies of the Imperium, alongside the other forces of Scandivus. While many glorious victories have been had through the valorous actions of the Swedesian Ice Burners, many have also paid the ultimate price for the continuation of Mankind in the galaxy; one such regiment was the Swedesian 145th Ice Burners, who were killed to the last man during the Norwesian War against the Tyranids. Homeworld: Swedesia, a frigid Death World and Astartes Homeworld. Being a Space Marine Homeworld and a death world, the Ice Burner regiments tend to be small, so as not to strain the manpower reserves of a planet that badly needs it. Recruitment: The Swedesian Ice Burners draw their manpower from the best and brightest of the PDF. The population of Swedesia is hardened and militarian, most settlements overseen and protected by the Companies of the Alfa Legion. This upbringing creates superior guardsmen and guardswomen, although the regiments have to be of minimal size due to the population requirements of an Astartes Homeworld. Swedesia usually maintains at least one Ice Burner regiment at any given time, although it can sustain up to five in times of heavy conflict. Regimental Organisation: The Ice Burners fall under the command of the General of the Swedesian System, General Dayne, alongside the regiments of Finda and Norwesia. The five-thousand man regiments themselves are led by a Colonel and divided into eight separate six-hundred and twenty-five man battalions led by Majors. The battalions are further divided into five separate one-hundred and twenty five man companies led by Captains, with four battle companies and one support company. Each battle company is comprised of three maneuver platoons and one headquarters platoon, with each maneuver platoon led by a Lieutenant and the HQ platoon led by the Captain and managed by an assistant Lieutenant. The platoons are divided into two squads led by Sergeants, which are divided into vehicle crewmen and dismount infantry. Wargear: The regiment has a renowned preference for this kind of weaponry, as it suits their style of warfare: Individual Equipment
